DESCRIPTION: \nEncounter New Friends\, Encounter New Adventure.\n \nWe are pleased to announce that the Hoporee/Cuboree for 2022 has been confirmed and will be proceeding at Port Elliot Showgrounds.\nThe event title is Encounter as\, not only are we in close proximity the Encounter Bay area\, the Cubs and Joeys will be ‘Encountering’ new friends\, a new region\, experiences and adventure.\nPlease keep an eye out for more information to come early in the new year.\n \n \nYouth panel:\nWe require three (3) Joeys and three (3) Cubs to be part of the organizing team for Encounter 2022.\nThe youth will need to be available one Sunday afternoon each month between now and the event in November.\nIt is hoped that these youth are also available for the event to enjoy what they have helped plan.\nThe six (6) youth will help with important decisions on behalf of their fellow Joeys and Cubs on things such as menu\, entertainment and badges.\nIf you are interested and will be available please fill in the JOT form.\nApplications close on Sunday 16 January and we will be in contact after the selection process.\nScouts\, Venturers and Rovers!\nYou too can play a role in the Encounter event. DESCRIPTION:NONT (Night Observation and Navigation Trial) is an annual themed event run by South Australian Rovers in which teams pack themselves\, like sardines\, into vehicles to complete a night navigation trial. Each team will need to decipher a range of puzzles in order to obtain the correct route to each checkpoint. On route\, points can be obtained by identifying and recording navigational markers or Observations. DESCRIPTION:Snow Venture is held each year at the Bogong Rover Chalet and is an awesome opportunity for Venturers to learn how ski or to improve your skiing if you’ve skied before – you will soon learn to ski if you haven’t before!\n \nThe Bogong Rover Chalet is located in the spectacular Bogong High Plains\, an 11km ski south of the Falls Creek Ski Resort in Victoria. The Chalet is unlike any other Chalet found on Australia’s snowfields. It has a unique atmosphere where everyone works together as a team to make Snow Venture a great success.\n \nSuitable for: Snow Venture is a physically strenuous activity and applicants require the completion of OAS Bushwalking Stage 4\, and OAS Bushcraft and Camping Stage 3. DESCRIPTION:Easter Venture 2022: Welcome to the Jungle\nDate: Friday 15th April 2022 to Monday 18th April 2022\nhttps://www.facebook.com/easterventure/\nLocation: Mount Crawford\nDetails: Easter Venture 2022 is a four-day Branch competitive hike open to Venturers\, older Scouts\, and Guides. The aim of Easter Venture is to enjoy a four-day break\, hiking with friends in a competitive environment. Each year a different theme is applied\, and participants are expected to hike dressed appropriately to the theme. Easter Venture 2022 is themed “Welcome to the Jungle!” You can choose to enter as a Daypack team (recommended for first time participants) or as Fullpack team. Participants compete for an overall E.V. perpetual trophy. This trophy will go to the team who completes the most hiking checkpoints\, complies with the theme in spirit and execution\, completes activities along the way and can demonstrate good camping skills. But E.V. is more than just a hike\, we have a disco\, a Sunday feast\, an Easter reflection activity\, and a duck hunt! (we can’t explain this one\, you need to see it to believe it and then you will understand). Easter Venture has all of the above and much\, much more.\n
